Get ready for an event
filled 2004, as the Drift Session begins another event series, this
time for wheel to wheel racers. Due to numerous requests from
racecar drivers, the Drift Session has decided to open up an
additional event series to meet the needs of Hawaii's road racing
community.
The Super Lap Series is
tentatively scheduled to begin in April, and run through a 4 event
season. The action starts as early as March, however, as we'll be
hosting a driver's clinic for those interested in racing so they can
learn the basics of race procedure and track etiquette.
The Super Lap Series
will be involving the most popular aspects of road racing in Hawaii:
the time attack and the wheel-to-wheel road race. Stock spec and
street modified vehicles can come down to the Super Lap to practice
lapping and compete in time trial events on the Short Course.
Hardcore racers will find lots of competition in the wheel-to-wheel
road races that we'll also offer on the HRP Long Course.
In addition to the
existing classes of vehicles, the highlight of the season will be
the Civic / Integra "one make" class, of competitive
racecars built by Hawaii's best tuning shops and a handful of
enthusiastic privateers.
Rules and regulations
will be available soon, so stay tuned to driftsession.com or check
with your local tuning shop for event updates. Also, if you're
considering competing in the Civic / Integra class, check with your
tuning shop for competition info and possible sponsorship /
assistance.
