Realized the world of drifting with help from Mike Irion
(co-owner of the popular video company Grip video). As a fan of
rally racing but with no places to rally on a small island, Kai turned to the next best thing: drifting. Starting in late 2002 with an old BMW 528E he began in the world of drifting getting better while making a new click of friends and
colleagues. Sooner then expected, the BMW was totaled so Kai took a
break from drifting. During this break, Kai continued to remain
involved in drifting but only behind the lens of a camera for the popular website Racesauce.com.
In 2003, he returned to the drifting scene with
a Nissan 240sx coupe that he locaated with the help from top drifter and friend
Gene Cho. The car's paint scheme is best described as "reverse
skunk": a black hood, black roof, and black trunk. Always having fun and always having
Intial D music pounding in the car, Kai drifted his new vehicle.
In 2006 as the track came to its final days, so did the well-known coupe.
Kai vows to build a another one and when a new track is fashioned he
will be there with his fellow drifters and they will once again slide
together. (hopefully with something a little more than a SOHC KA
motor)
