So Mitch, how did you first get into drifting? What interests you about it?
Hmm, I think its was around August 2003 when I first drifted. It was at a Drift Session 2 lapping format event and I remember being really nervous. I don't remember when I first saw drifting, I just know I saw it first on Option Videos. The part that interests me the most is just how sick a nicely built drift car looks while drifting. It just makes me happy.

How often do you practice?
The only practice I get is on the track at Drift Session and Super Lap events.

What major crashes / setbacks did you have?

I've had a few minor crashes and one major crash. But that hasn't stopped me or my car. The major set backs are more about dumb shit breaking. Things like trans missions breaking, turbos sucking in intake filters and other odd things that don't normally happen.

Do you consider yourself good? Who is good? What makes a "good" drifter?
I don't consider myself good, I think that I am decent but not good. I would say that in Hawaii most of the Group A drivers I would consider good. Being consistent and not trying to show off makes a good driver.

What do you think of the drifting scene in the USA right now? How is Hawaii different from the California scene?
I think the drifting scene in the USA is gay. Too many dumb jackholes who just run their mouths. Hawaii people still do it just for the fun of it.

What do you predict for drifting in the USA? What's wrong with drifting in the US? What's good?
Well my prediction is just a wild guess since I don't really follow Formula D. I think that it will probably stay the same as it is now. Probably not gonna get any bigger. I think that the US still doesn't know how to judge a drift event. Its good that they still suck enough for US Hawaii drivers to get in on it if we wanted.

So who do you drift with at the track? How good are your friends? What could they do to get better?
I don't really drift with anyone, I don't feel that there is anyone that is at the same level as I am. There are people that are way faster than me and was slower, and I don't feel comfortable driving around anyone yet. My friends are all over the place, some good and some who need to practice more. To get better I would say they just need more track time and not try to be better than the best. Just try to get better than what you did last time.

How popular is drifting amongst the women in your age group? Do you have groupies or anything? Does drifting make you popular with the chicks?
I think that drifting is appealing to some women, but most don't understand it. I would say I have a few groupies, but most are dudes. To this day I have only been popular with a select few girls just because of drifting, I would say that I get my chicks because of my good looks and personality. haha just playin'.....no I'm not.

What have you done to your car? What makes it special? Horsepower? Wheels / Tires? etc.
I have done most of the work in the suspension with good coilovers and links. Decent power is a must so I had to get a sr20det with a few bolt ons. I would say my car runs around 250 hp, its not that impressive but it gets me by. The thing that makes my car special and stand out is whatever's left of my body kit and the fantastic pervert green paint. but there's still more to come once I recover from a blown motor. Be on the look out because I shall return.
